Help your loved ones make the right decisions about drinking and driving. Offer to act as a designated driver if your loved ones need a safe ride home. Encourage your friends, family, and children to make the right decisions when it comes to drinking and driving.
4) Think about driving fatigue.
Many people assume that as long as they haven’t been drinking, they’re okay to drive home after a holiday party or event. This is not always the case. If you’re driving home late at night or very early in the morning, especially, extreme fatigue can affect your response times and your motor skills as much as drinking and driving can. In addition, during these times you may be more likely to share the road with large trucks, which can put you more at risk. Treat fatigued driving a seriously as you treat drunk driving.
5) Report trucks being driven erratically.
